The Brother DCP 8060 Printer uses Brother DCP 8060 Toner and has three different functions; it can be a laser printer, copier or scanner. The machine is digital and produces high quality work no matter the function. The DCP 8060 was designed specifically with small businesses and home usage in mind.
The copying and print speed is fast at 30 ppm and the laser printing offers excellent resolution at 12000 X 1200 dpi. The paper tray holds 300 sheets of paper that is more then your standard printers and it also has an automatic document feeder. The feeder can do up to 50 pages at one time and is especially nice as you don’t have to stand there and hand feed in each sheet one at a time.
This printer is a black and white laser printer and in order to keep using it you will have buy paper and replace the toner cartridge and drum unit eventually. It maximum speed is 30 ppm and has an optional paper capacity of 250 sheets.
The printer has 32MB of memory but can have up to 544MB installed if you desire, it has a high speed interface that connects with USB 2.0, can copy in black and white, has PCL6 and BR-Script 3 emulation, can automatically feed up to 50 pages, has a copying speed of 30cpm, can reduce up to 400 percent or as little as 25 percent.
The DCP 8060 can print on any size paper including letters, legal size, executive, folio and other standard sizes. When scanning documents can be exported in TIFF, BMP, MAX, JPG, and PDF formats. It is possible to view all documents using software provided from the printer. You can use Presto PageManager on Mac computers and Scansoft paper port SE with OCR for windows operating systems. There is also IGR software available for both Windows and Mac operating systems. A few additional options include 48 bit color scan depth, interpolated scan resolution, color scanning and sorting.
The printer is efficient as it has energy saving modes. When it is running at top speed it uses 1092 watts of electricity, when it is on standby it uses 85 watts and when it is in sleep mode it uses 15 watts. It is powered by an AC 120 V source. This printer can be used by anyone, as it is compatible with almost all systems including Mac OS 9.1 and 9.2, and Windows systems that were produced after Windows 1998. The company provides a 3 year manufactures warranty and you have the option of exchanging it during the first two years after purchase.
The flatbed is constructed of glass and make sit easy to copy papers, books and magazines. It can copy onto any type of media including card stock. It is also possible to lock in your copying settings, which can be a great option if you have a lot of people using it and they tend to mess up the settings. The Scan To function offered by Brother is useful if you need to send the scanned image to many computers and it is possible to customize almost all of the settings.
