Simply spray the spot on the carpet, let it sit as long as directed on the instructions, and dab clean with a towel. For carpets that are dirty in a large area, such as an entire living room, steam cleaning may be the best option. While expensive to purchase, many stores have these available for rental for inexpensive prices. Before steam cleaning carpet, make sure it is vacuumed and free of any particles on the floor. A carpet cleaner and water will be put into a container attached to the steam cleaner, and while in use, the cleaner will spray out this cleaner while a brush is turning, and the vacuum portion of the cleaner will pick up loose dirt and debris.
