Depending on the amount of customization you need you may choose to stick with something like 1shoppingcart. Yes, that may cost you a little more, yet this will save you aving to purchase a SSL certificate for secure transactions, and also having to pay more hosting costs for securely storing customer credit card info. You will probably want to get a open source ecommerce platform and build from that if you need to do a lot of customization.
