Shelving by Design: Storage to Match any Decor

Since my friend Michael finally looked into shelving by design recommendation, he no longer asks me annoying questions about shelving. Michael and his wife have two new-born babies and recently bought a house.

As Michael and his wife had both just finished graduate school and were starting careers as professors at a University, they needed room for their myriad of books. With infants in the home, shelving by design seemed the best alternative to high shelving and conventional bookcases.

Their books had remained in boxes because Michael’s wife, with an eye for interior decor, had refused to use Michael’s large, oaken shelving. Referring to their books is a necessary element of Michael and his wife’s careers. They need to have easy access to the literature they love. After going through their first semester of teaching without having their books organized for reference and retrieval, shelving by design samples allowed Michael’s wife to bring some order to the room and the book collection. These matched her need for feng shui, modern design, and the safety of their children.

The new shelving opened up a whole array of artistic possibilities which were now available to them and needed sorting out. Michael, of course, let his wife do all the research and measured the room and shelving areas for her.

I decided my suggestion had been enough and stayed away after his wife began her journey to finding and installing the shelving by design. Sleek white shelving, in various sizes, to line the walls and house the books was her final choice.

My office shelving is no longer on loan to Michael and his wife since they accepted by suggestion. Also, his wife loves being asked about her new furniture and thanks me every time I come visit. Michael’s wife thanks me for the suggestion on every visit, and says her new furniture gets many compliments. My shelving by design receives nearly twice as many compliments. I hope she doesn’t find out.
